Our principal aim is to provide a comfortable environment where residents are able to enjoy a fulfilling, relaxing and secure life style, with the opportunity to control as much of their lives as they are able or would wish.
The Home was established in 1990 and specialises in the care of older people. Emphasis is placed on a homely and friendly atmosphere for up to 39 residents.
Resident accommodation is 27 single and 6 twin bedrooms. All bedrooms are in excess of the current size requirements and have en-suite facilities. There are 3 separate lounge/dining rooms, which include a conservatory lounge overlooking the garden.
St Michael's Nursing Home is registered by the Care Quality Commission, and conforms to all Health and Safety and Fire Standards, plus relevant Codes of Practise for the administration of medicines.
It is the policy of St Michael's to supply a service of consistent quality to its residents associated with their needs. This level of quality is achieved through the competence of the Home to existing and potential residents and independent authorities such as the Care Quality Commission.
The Home provides an opportunity for residents to experience fulfilment, independence, choice, dignity and privacy.
The value of confidentiality: Residents’ rights and their emotional and spiritual needs are well understood by all staff members.
St Michael's also operates a Primary Nursing System and a Key/Link worker system, which ensures that individual residents' needs are met. We have a system on internal quality assurance in place, which monitors and evaluates the quality of life, the quality of care and the quality of management.
Our residents are cared for by a dedicated team of Registered Nurses and Carers, supported by Ancillary and Administrative staff.
The Manager is always available to discuss any subject with prospective residents and their families, who are welcome to visit at any time.
